Kingsford has a postcode of 2032 and a population of 15,482. Part of the Eastern Suburbs region, Kingsford lies Randwick and Daceyville. Originally known as South Kensington, the area changes its name to honour the late Australian aviator Sir Charles Kingsford Smith. The mid 1900s saw a large influx of Greek settlers from the island of Castellorizo in the area and later in the decade they built the Castellorizian Club on Anzac Parade.
Kingsford is mainly residential and has a large number of university students residing in the area, largely in part to the University of New South Wales campus in neighbouring Kensington. A light rail project is currently underway, it aims to link Kingsford to the Sydney CBD via Anzac Parade and is due to be completed in March of 2020.
